The LMI 5000 melt mass flow rate tester, commonly referred to as a Melt Indexer, is designed to meet or exceed international standards to measure melt mass flow rate (MFR). Includes a 32 bit microprocessor, touch-pad display, push button calibration, and “smart keys” for programming. Capable of operation up to 425°C (800°F) with accuracy to ± 0.1°C. Weigh scale accurate to ± 0.001 grams required to weigh extruded sample.

The LMI 5000 A, A/B, B melt mass flow rate and melt volume flow rate tester is designed to meet or exceed international standards to measure both MFR and MVR. Includes a 32 bit microprocessor, touch-pad display, push button calibration, and “smart keys” for programming. Capable of operation up to 425°C (800°F) with accuracy to ± 0.1°C. Weigh scale accurate to ± 0.001 grams required to weigh extruded sample.
The LMI 5000 A, A/B, B model utilizes an integral Digital Encoder to measure MVR. The instrument can then calculate MFR once the melt density is confirmed. This feature allows users to measure MFR or MVR without cutting and weighing extruded samples. Optional Model LaVA software adds PET Intrinsic Viscosity correlation as well as shear stress, shear rate and apparent melt density test results.
