Gravitrol® HG Series 2 for Continuous Gravimetric Blenders
In this configuration, the information is sent to the central Gravitrol® computer which adjusts extruder screw speed to maintain weight throughput to ± 0.5% by weight or better. Standard hopper sizes can control extruder throughput at rates from 4.5 to 4500 kg/hr (10 to 10000 lb/hr).
Gravitrol® extrusion control offers the benefits of improved product quality, reduced material usage, quicker startups and product changeovers, reduced scrap, and improved product repeatability. At the same time, it reduces the operator’s workload by maintaining a constant output, regardless of screen pack or material variations. PCC’s HG Series 2 weight hopper mounts directly onto the extruder throat, requiring no additional support. Each hopper is equipped with a touch screen PLC which connects to the load cell and precisely measured the extruder’s material consumption.
